The Great Pacific Garbage Patch

In the middle of the Pacific Ocean there is a massive whirling region that is filled with garbage—all those plastic bottles lying in the street eventually make it there. But the Great Pacific Garbage Patch isn't a big floating trash island as one might imagine at first, but instead a vast area filled with microscopic particles of brokendown trash that you can barely with a quick glance.

THE GOAL
The goal of this project was to create a one-minute informational motion graphic video that explained an assigned topic, in my case the Great Pacific Garbage Patch.

LOOKING BACK
It feels very “college-y” – which is ok since it was one my first projects using After Effects. If I were to go back and make changes, I would rerecord the voiceover; cleaning up the timing; and either embrace the simplicity or make it more complex.
